PLAY at Okada Manila!

Some days are simply meant for playing. Being a child once in my life, i can say that I'd never live a day or week without experiencing play. I have gathered the most wonderful and happiest throwbacks in my memory bank from playtime. And even if I'm already a mom- having three wonderful kids around, i still love the idea of play. Like the saying goes, "we do not stop playing because we grow old, we grow old because we stop playing". And i couldn't agree more! I'm always a kid at heart, specially when i have the kids in tow.

Talking about play, last February, me and my kids visited the newest playground in Manila, called PLAY. It officially opened its door to the public last February 10, 2018. So, yeah, this is a super late post!

PLAY stands for "Purposeful Learning and Activities for the Young". It is Okada Manila's family-friendly indoor fun facility for the young and the young-at-heart. It offers a full line of dedicated learning programs aimed at enhancing the holistic development of children—it promises a lot more than just a fun-filled play day.

PLAY has 8 Fun Neighborhoods. It is designed to become a multi-functional platform that addresses the recreation and learning needs of kids aged 1-16 years old. The eight (8) purpose-built play areas or neighborhoods reward kids with the fun and adventure they crave for, no matter what age they are in.

Wizard’s Den

An interactive video game space where kids use gestures to defeat mythical creatures.

Mini Steps & Mini Me

A dedicated play and learning space for children aged 0-3 years old.

Little Town

It  allows children to hands-on play in a banking, postal, school, grocery and home environment to gain valuable learning and practical experience of every day grown-up life.

Little Park

A two-level playground and maze where toddlers can spend their limitless energy and explore their physical strength.

Sports Zone

An active zone with artificial grass court for sports games.

A multi-level playground and maze for kids over 110 centimeters.

The Stage

It is where kids can unleash their inner performer and cultivate their
singing, dancing, acting, and public speaking skills.

My Party Place

It is a gaming and events space that can host birthday parties, corporate events,
team-building activities, or any special occasion.

PLAY will also have several other features, like child-friendly comfort rooms, an emergency response team composed of first-aid qualified PLAY coaches and marshals, a snack bar, a kiddie gift shop, and over 30 closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras to ensure that kids will have all the fun they want within a convenient, safe, and secure environment.

My Verdict:

PLAY, in all honesty and fairness, is a good place for the kids. It is spacious, safe and comfortable. But just like any other indoor playgrounds that we've been, i don't see anything really note-worthy yet and super special about the place.

Except the small portion which was called the Little Town that promotes interactive play. My kids loved it there so much. But I'm still looking forward to some additional features at this playground soon. Nonetheless, for active kids and kids at heart, it is an ideal setting to spend your free time with the little ones.

I love that the place was maintained clean by strictly implementing, no shoes inside. I went to the comfort room and they had available soft slippers both for adults and the kids. They also had a small Snack Bar where you can buy good sandwiches and drinks, BUT i find it too pricey.

At the end of the facility is a Souvenir or Gift Shop where one can buy souvenir stuff toys and the like. Ideally, when adults need to play at the casino, it's the perfect place to leave the kids in tow. However, little kids still needs to be attended by a guardian at all times.

Now, planning to pay a visit soon? Here's what you should remember;

  • Dress Code for both adults and children: Long-sleeved shirts, pants and socks all the time.
  • Socks are also available  for purchase.
  • Lockers are available for use, to leave your belongings and shoes.
  • Outside food and drinks are not allowed.
  • A Snack Bar is available inside the play area with comfortable tables and chairs.
  • Age limit is 16 years old.
  • You need to accompany a child to get inside.
Rates are as follows;
