Birthdaycation: Azumi Boutique Hotel, your Zen Home in the South

It was two weeks before my birthday and i still haven't planned anything yet. Why is that so? Well, the busyness of life occupied me so much and my recent deactivation from social networks due to some false friendship attacks (intriguing huh?) caused me to stay away from everything, unplugging myself from all source of news and even social gatherings. Still, my instagram account is always updated in case you don't know. (Paano ba yun ideactivate for a while?

Anyway, i used to celebrate my birthday every year. I never want to pass it without having a very simple and intimate party with my closest family and friends or if not, i will celebrate it with my kids and my husband, by staying in a hotel and just spoiling myself with all their love and warm presence- no gifts, just having them beside me is PRICELESS. For some, celebrating their birthday isn't something to look forward to, most moms would prefer to prepare ahead of time for their kids birthday (yes i do that too), but just like any birthdays in my family, i also prepare for my birthday- because the life i was living now is my second life and i just wanna be thankful, for God has been so generous with the life He has given me. Isn't that enough reason to celebrate? (Now the second life series is another story to tell...)

So while my birthday is fast approaching, i thought of just having a staycation with the family instead of partying at home like last year. Deal Grocer saved my last minute birthday preparation as i stumbled upon a promo at Azumi Boutique Hotel' s Queen Room for only P2,875 for 2 persons with 2 kids allowed to stay in for free. However, breakfast is not included, but we were given a special rate of P350 for breakfast upon checking in, so i paid additional payment for that.

Now, how do you rate "boutique" hotels? As far as i know, boutique hotels are those with small rooms, no parking, lacking amenities and not fully serviced. But when we visited Azumi, it was quite different! It exceeded my expectations for boutique hotels. It left me the impression of a STYLISH hotel in the south.

The Lobby
Azumi which means a safe residence is managed by Hospitality Innovators Inc., one of the leading local management companies in the hospitality industry, transforming management and operations of hotels, resorts, condominiums and serviced residences.

The Bar and Romulo Cafe at the side
So what can i say about the place?
We were greeted by their friendly staffs at the grand lobby. Grand, as it is themed into such a home-y ambiance with an array of books, cozy furnishings, framed photographs and some travel mementos with a distinct pop of red colors that blends perfectly with grays, blacks and whites. Checking in was very quick  too and the staffs even greeted me Happy Birthday!

The reception desk
They also have a Spa inside the hotel just within the stylish lobby but i wasn't able to check it out.

The Nail Spa
Our room was very simple yet it's neat and clean. I love the orange colors that adds life to the room. We had our queen bed that was just right for the two of us (me and my husband) and a day bed convertible to a single bed where my two kids fit in perfectly! It's like we're having two beds in a room, one for adults, one for the kids.

There's nothing much to see when you open the window blinds from the sides, but it's airy and "maaliwalas" from the outside. There's a glass covered toilet and bath (with hot and cold shower), which one can see through when somebody is taking a bath or is poop'ing! However, there's a roller blind that you can pull down to provide optimum privacy for your toilet shenanigans. (Lol)

Everything we need is in here! High-speed Internet Connection, Samsung LED TV with Cable, Individually Controlled Aircon Unit, Safety Deposit Box, Microwave Oven, Coffee and Tea-Making Facility with a sink and a Refrigerator.

We didn't stay much longer after checking-in because the kids were scheduled to do some christmas shopping so we went out after fixing our things and securing our luggages. The location of the hotel is very accessible, situated inside Madrigal Business Park which is just a tumbling away from Molito Complex and Alabang Town Center, 3 minutes more and you're at S&R.

The use of this 360° virtual tour of Azumi Boutique Hotel in Alabang, Muntinlupa City is authorized by Traveloka.

On the following day we had our buffet breakfast at the modern and sleek Romulo Cafe. The interiors of this cafe is stunning! The hanging lights and the painted wall with green accentuated pillars are a lovely collaboration. The black, white and green color combination is just too posh. Everything is just stylish!

For the food? Well, we've got a few selection for their breakfast buffet, but it was well put together from fresh fruits, pastries and desserts, hot and cold drinks, soup and breads with a variety of spreads. They got plain and garlic rice to choose from and some delish Asian Filipino dishes. They got cereals too which my kids loved. The food taste was all okey! We had a hearty breakfast at Romulo Cafe and i think i wanna try having lunch there too, some other time maybe. ;-)

After breakfast, it's time to swim!
We visited their pool the evening before, but we didn't swim. It was very cold and windy up there and we're so tired after long hours of walking around the malls. Azumi Boutique Hotel's Infinity Lap Pool is located on the roof deck. It's an added treat to hotel guests as you cannot expect this kind of amenity to most boutique hotels.

Once at the roof deck, you will be treated into such a lovely 360 degrees view of Alabang City Skyline. It's like swimming in an oasis in the middle of the city. A totally a different view! Wear your bikinis with all those skyscrapers around you on a breezy, sunny morning! How was that?

Towels are provided upon request and a changing and shower area is available in the facility. Still, it was a glass covered toilet, i wonder if they can see us through?

Opsss! That's my little daughter sitting on the throne ;-) So how was the view baby?
Me and my family enjoyed a lot here! I just wished they made a little portion of the pool exclusive to kids. Check out the video below from my Youtube Channel.

To wrap it up, it has been a pleasurable stay at Azumi Boutique Hotel. We had a sound and good night sleep in the Queen Room, a hearty breakfast at Romulo Cafe, a warm yet breezy dip at their Lap Pool and a well-spent quality time with the family. It has been a wonderful birthdaycation for this year and we're looking forward to another memorable stay at Azumi! It truly is your ultimate zen home in metro south!

See you on my next birthdaycation!
