Novotel - A Home in Kuala Lumpur

22:02

Our first trip to Malaysia together with our kids two weeks ago is one that I consider an "all-of-God's" favor trip. The moment we set foot on the plane going to Kuala Lumpur I felt His presence. Not only for the provision of finances, the P88 pesos air tickets, our safety, food and allowances but I also got so much favors for our accommodation.

We stayed for two nights at Johor Bahru, Malaysia and another night at Kuala Lumpur. The trip was very tiring, especially for the kids. On the last two days, my husband got sick, my son is having some leg pains and my daughter is ongoing medication but she managed to keep a cheerful disposition. Then my camera lens was broken. I guess I was the only one who stayed fit as a fiddle. But God has always been a source of strength and healing. And in Him we are highly favored!

One of the things that I consider when booking hotels for our trips is comfort and security. Some people may scrimp comfort and would settle for a lesser hotel to allocate the budget for shopping. But It would be nice for me to settle on the contrary. Because tours are tiring and exhausting, and it's always nice to have a cozy space that you can call a home while on vacation. I know there are a lot of budget hotels around that will not compromise my standards, hence, searching for hotels gives me great pains and consumes most of my time.

I was given the favors of booking a first class hotel in the very heart of Kuala Lumpur City, Malaysia. It's classy, homey, spacious, comfortable and most of all it's FREE!

Novotel Kuala Lumpur City Centre or Novotel KLCC is strategically located in the shopping district of Kuala Lumpur. Convenience store like 7-Eleven is just across the street. Utilizing the foot bridge adjacent to the hotel will lead you to the Pavillion Shopping Center, a place for shopping and ultimate food trip. It is also a short walk going to Bukit Bintang (another entertaining district), and from the footbridge it is connected to Kuala Lumpur Convention Center, Suria Mall and the majestic Petronas Twin Tower, around 15-20 minutes walk. From the airport we took the skybus to KL Sentral and from there it's a 10 minutes drive via taxi. (Thanks to my college friend who's in KL for providing me transportation tips.)

I booked our room through Accorhotels website. Apparently, after processing our voucher, charges to my card were declined for some inexplicable reasons. I called the hotel to report it and was surprised when they told me that they got the reservation and our room is confirmed.

Then came our scheduled check in. We came from three flights for two days and all I want is to have my most needed rest and sleep. I was expecting that I might get some troubles with my reservations but checking in was a breeze! The amount that was supposedly for prepaid was waived through a printed voucher and I didn't pay a single centavo for that. Amazing!

Our room on the 12th floor offers a view of its busy district with two tall buildings blocking the city skyline, but I didn't care much, though I really wished to have the view of the swimming pool instead (but thanks God, He did not allow that because the two kids will surely scream for swimming!). The beds and linens are nice, clean and meticulously organized. We were offered a superior room with two beds that we joined together.

Rooms have the usual bundle like complimentary bottled water and coffee, a full refrigerator which is not working (i don't know why), a cable television, electric kettle, safety deposit box, a clean toilet and bath with a tub and complete necessary toiletries, big towels, hot and cold showers plus my favorite FREE WIFI! The air condition was very cool that we turned it off in the middle of the night because we were all shaking even if the temperature has been lowered down. I was then surprised that the room was not equipped with a flat iron. I was expecting one, because during our stay in another Accor hotel in Manila they have irons and ironing boards readily available in each room. Even Hotel H2O have one! They don't have a microwave too, where in some international hotels they have it in place.

The hotel has a small front desk but the staffs are kind, warm and very accommodating and they speak good English.

They have a restaurant, a bar and the spiral lounge which is quite similar to Sofitel Philippine Plaza with it's curved staircase. It is also equipped with a fitness centre, a business lounge, a spa and a swimming pool that caters to adults and kids.

We had a hearty buffet breakfast with a wide selection of breads, fresh fruits and fruit juices, cakes and pastries, delectable dishes of beef and chicken, ham, sausages, steamed vegetables, baked potatoes and other appetizing Asian cuisines and local Malaysian food choices. They served my all time favorite strong brewed coffee and most of all they have PLAIN RICE and FRIED EGGS!

God provided all our needs! My kids has been eating noodles, soups, gardenia bread with spreads (that I brought from home), and KFC chicken for the past three days, because they don't like Malaysian food especially the rice. Fast food chains like McDonald's and KFC don't have rice meals, so when we had breakfast at Novotel (which was included in our room package) they gratified themselves with the EGGS! I was actually thinking, maybe one of the servers was wonderin' why we keep on coming back for the eggs!

I was really glad seeing the two kids enjoying their meals, especially my son who's back to his normal appetite that morning. I made sure they got adequate food for the day's tiring itinerary. Right after our breakfast we checked out and just like checkin' in, it was a breeze!

All in all it was a pleasurable stay at Novotel KLCC, we had a goodnight sleep, sweet and sound. The kids wasn't able to enjoy the pool but they definitely enjoyed the shower. I would like to commend the staff of their restaurant for being attentive to our needs and for being kind and pleasant despite their struggle with the foreign language. I cannot find any reason why I shouldn't go back to this hotel if given another chance. Excellent location, commendable service, descent and FREE for us! Most of all I thank God for His provision, His guidance, His security and His Love!

Forever Grateful,
