Birthdaycation at Sofitel Philippine Plaza

Our first staycation for this year as a family (because it's the first time that our kids are with us) and the last staycation for the year, officially kicks off at Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila. Let me thank my ever loving and generous husband for the birthday gift! Hahaha! As much as we wanted to travel a lot, (which i have mentioned in my earlier posts) there are priorities that we wanted to stay focused and i really thank God for hotel privileges, which can suffice the need for a total rest and relaxation without flying.

As a frequent flyer, my husband earn points from his work related travels and hotel check-ins and so as an Accor Club member for years, he hoarded quite a few bucks which we can use for hotels and dine-ins. He booked for Sofitel as one of the participating hotel in the Metro and decided to bring our kids to enjoy some leisurely break from the hustles and bustles of our day to day life.

We were accommodated in a superior room which includes a buffet breakfast including the kids plus a buffet dinner too at the Sunset Bar. As expected from a five-star hotel, the room was spacious, nice and comfy.

Checking in was very efficient and we were given complimentary spa sessions at the Vietura Aesthetic Spa. I appreciate their warm welcome for hotel guests and the VIP treatment for hotel members like us. They even gave our kids complimentary ice cream scoops at the pool area too.

The spirit of Christmas is very warm in the whole area with all the twinkling lights and the sparkling red and gold Christmas decorations. The grand spiral staircase is the famous spot that you shouldn't miss for an obligatory photo op! There were also booths or Christmas village around the lobby signifying the holiday season.

We went down for our buffet dinner at the Sunset Bar by the pool side. It was a lovely night to spend eating a lot of delectable foods prepared by the hotel's executive chefs. I wasn't able to take photos of the buffet because i was too excited to sit and eat with my family and enjoy the Cultural Show on the other side. Nonetheless, the food was great! The buffet was flooding with an extensive choice of Asian and Filipino cuisines. Walang diet-diet!

Spending the night outside your room and lounging around the pool area or the bar brings out a different vibe, especially on this season when the breeze was crisp and chilly. It's like vacationing somewhere else far from the metro, quiet and relaxing.

In the morning, however, is a different vibe too! It's like an oasis or some sort of a mini tropical resort in the middle of the city. My family enjoyed so much of our time by the pool, especially the kids!

We had our breakfast, which is buffet once again, this time at Spiral with choices of fruits, and lots of different international cuisines to choose from. But just like everyday, my kids loves eggs, so as long as they got eggs they're more than okey! They gave us complimentary shots of detox juices that morning after breakfast and it was good too!

We had our scheduled ultra lipo and resolift booked at Vietura Aesthetic Spa the following morning and while the kids cannot come with us, we handed them at the kid's play area where they can stay safe. They had an attendant who looks after toddlers while the smaller kids must be accompanied with a nanny. So, while we enjoy our spa, the kids were enjoying their time playing too!

Vietura Aesthetic Lifestyle is the first aesthetic institute of its kind in Asia located inside Sofitel Philippine Plaza. It provides a comprehensive offering of holistic, personalized beauty and wellness programs combining non-invasive aesthetic procedures, integrative medicine and lifestyle coaching tailor fit to the individual’s needs.

At Vietura Aesthetic Lifestyle Spa
We had our complimentary Ultra Lipo and Resolift session for each of us (me and husband) at this first class aesthetic center and it was so relaxing. The non-invasive procedure was just quick but i do enjoyed it a lot feeling the effects of the Resolift on my saggy skin right after. It feels tighter and i was refreshed and was able to relax for a few minutes. They have small rooms but very comfy and inviting.

After the spa, we went back to get the kids from the play area and headed back to our room. We still have some time left to rest and enjoy the rest of the hotel's facilities before checking out. My kids enjoyed so much of their stay and they were screaming for part 2! They do not want to go home, and i cannot blame them for that. I myself wanted to stay longer too!

It was indeed a memorable and very happy birthdaycation for me and my family. And i do recommend this hotel for families and even couples, surely, you'll get what you paid for.

Sometimes, it's good to shed a few bucks and enjoy life's simple pleasures. It's not everyday that you get to hang out luxuriously but thinking about moments with the family, no amount of money can ever replace the time you spent with them. Special times can create memories that we can treasure for a lifetime and that is more valuable than money.

Create memories!
