5 Things I love about Canyon Cove

Batangas Staycation

It's quite ironic but honestly, this was the first time that i visited the town proper of Nasugbu, Batangas, most specially their white beach! I have lived in Batangas all my life, but still, there are sooo many places that I've never explored yet. Thank God, it was time to celebrate another anniversary and so we decided to spend a night at Canyon Cove, Nasugbu, Batangas which is just an hour drive away from our place.

My first impression was, it's gone "old". Some facilities show signs that needs to be refurbished, but still the overall look was still nice. In fact, a lot of tourists are visiting the place, and i never question why, because the white beach was lovely. We arrived just in time for our check in and while there's quite some fuss before we finally got the keys for our reserved room, it was still a wonderful experience.

Our room was spacious with two double beds and a day bed on a corner which suits the kids (sorry, i forgot to take photos 'coz we were so tired from the long drive). The moment i saw the beds, i felt sad, 'coz we didn't bring the kids! From the balcony i saw the children's playground too and it made me feel even worse. Sayang talaga!

The balcony overlooking the pool and the room was all ours! Sayang! But since it was our anniversary, and we really didn't plan anything fancy for this year to celebrate it, we made ourselves comfortable and enjoyed our stay two-gether!

While there are some points that are deteriorating, there's so many things that a family can enjoy at Canyon Cove. Yes, it is very ideal for families, because they offer an array of water sports, recreational amenities, and food & dining facility that everyone can enjoy. Here's my favorite:

F & B at Canyon Cove

While the location of the resort is quite distant from the town proper, Canyon Cove has its very own restaurant that serves food and beverages for breakfast lunch and dinner. Eating will never be a problem though their prices are expected to be higher compared to outside food and beverages, it's not really expensive compared to other first class resorts and hotel around the area.

We had our buffet dinner and breakfast at the restaurant and it was all good. Dinner buffet had a few selection of main dishes which was  mostly Filipino and Asian cuisine. Nothing really note-worthy but the food taste is good. For breakfast, we had a set meal and the serving is just right.

The Swimming Pool

My favorite is the pool! They got a huge swimming pool which looks like a lagoon. I love to watch it from over the top because it gives a refreshing sight with a backdrop of a hill or a cliff and the beach from afar. The view is just amazing! Benches and gazebo are also around with tables perfect for a day trip or family picnics.

The White Sand and the Beach Front

Who doesn't love the beach? We went night swimming at the pool and planned to swim at the beach early morning the following day but it was too cold. The January breeze was so chilly that i cannot stand the water so we just walked along the shore after breakfast. Canyon Cove is one of the beaches in Batangas which offers a white sand experience aside from Calatagan coast. The water is also clear and the waves are just perfect for family swims. Cabanas are available along the beach front which is ideal for day swimming.

The Golden Sunset

What i love from the beach is the lovely sunset during sunset hours. It offers a majestic golden view which i do really enjoyed during that afternoon. The water is calm and the sights from the other side of the beach is just amazing. It was indeed very relaxing.

Water Sports

Apart from the swimming pool, beach and the playground for kids, Canyon Cove has several water sport amenities that guests can enjoy. They have pedal boats, kayaking, snorkeling, skim board, jetski, banana boating and island hopping to different resorts and the Twin Island with stop over at the snorkeling point. Rates are posted on their website. We didn't get to try out their water sports but we do witnessed some families kayaking and banana boating, it looked fun! We'll try it next time when the kids are with us so it can be more enjoyable.

It's a total relaxation and bonding time spent with each other. Our anniversary trip was simple and short, yet very relaxing and fun. Canyon Cove is recommendable for families who wish to spend a weekend in a nice beach which is just 1-2 hours away from the city. The enjoyable long drive along the smooth Nasugbu road is a bonus too! We'll definitely go back with the kids soon!
