Crown Regency Residences Davao

Crown Regency Residences served as our home for three days during our family vacation in Davao City. My initial reaction with the place was quite good, spacious and comfortable for my kids and the rest of the family members especially my parents. It has a home-like ambience and charming mediterranean architectures. Some areas of the room needs to be refurbished though the interiors are quite nice and clean. (Some of the photos are courtesy of Crown Regency and Tripadvisor, I wasn't able to take more photos because I was too busy attending to my babies' needs).

I booked a Family Villa for us, a two- storey unit with two bedrooms on the second floor with a common bathroom and another room that has a veranda overlooking the swimming pool. The staffs are very warm and hospitable. And for me, this hotel is a good choice for big families travelling with kids considering comfort, security and affordability.

The other room where my parents and my sister stayed is occupied by two single beds and two more pull out beds. Fair enough and comfortable for a sharing family composed of seven members including my kids.

What's nice about this hotel is the homey feeling it gives to it's guest. Having all the bedrooms on the second floor, then a family area with cable television, a dining area, and a kitchen - where you can cook occupies the ground floor. The air-condition was working fine on both storey, it was very cool and there are readily available kitchen utensils and electronic appliances ready to use. It's like having your home away from home!

We used to have our breakfast at their Fabulous Fifties Cafe, a 1950s themed restobar with live acoustic band that opens daily for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

The restobar is just a tumbling away, across our hotel room, close to the swimming pool which is at the middle of the villas. They offer the usual buffets with fried rice, eggs, and other local and asian food choices. I so love the impeccable vintage interior design of their cafe.

Ready to swim!

The morning came and we're all set to enjoy their pool. After the other day's tiring itinerary it's time to plunge and enjoy a cool dip into the water before having another day out. They have a not so big pool and a kiddie pool connected on the side. They also have a whirl pool but it's not operating during that time.

Most of the amenities are quite old but still properly maintained. We got some minor problems with our door lock but the management immediately send a help to fix the fuss. They also do regular cleaning of the pool during wee hours of the night. The location of the hotel was quite hard to find, but not really a problem. It is located behind two other small hotel or should I say motels and you need to walk through a distant from the highway if you happen to ride a jeepney going back to your hotel. Good thing it was one of the famous budget friendly and mostly visited hotel in town, the taxi drivers and tricycle drivers are familiar with it.

The stay has been a pleasurable one. And I dauntlessly recommend this hotel to anyone whose planning a vacation in Davao City. If you're looking for a better place to feel at home in a strategic location, with competitive rates, Crown Regency Residences Hotel is one good choice!
